LOVE GOD

Throughout the Church year, if we were to interpret most of our readings down to single words, we would find that faith, love and forgiveness would be the most common interpretations.

Can that be said of today’s readings:
‘A perishable body presses down on the soul and this tent of clay weighs down the teeming mind’. Wisdom.
‘If any man comes to me without hating his father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yes and his own life too, he cannot be my disciple.’ Luke.

All of this sounds like torture as maybe does most of our work, but as in work, we must plan and stride for perfection and success.

Of course we must not hate our family and friends but love them and in doing so, must love God all the more and carry our crosses, which can be made all the easier if we have a true faith

To a brave person, good and back luck are
like their right and left hand.  They use both!
