Baptisms: 
Baptisms are in Tullamore on the 1st Sunday & 3rd Saturday of the month and in Durrow the 2nd Sunday of the month.
Next pre-Baptism meeting - Wed 1 & Wed 15 Feb - 8.30pm, Parochial House.  All parents who wish to have their child baptised must attend a meeting.

Youth Centre: Junior Drama Group now full.
Gramophone Society presents piano recital by John O'Connor, Sun 5, 8pm, Tullamore Court.
Gardening Club: Meeting Wed 1, Bridge House, 8pm.  Guest speaker Isolde Dingenkus.
VEC Evening Classes: Vacancies in a number of courses incl computers, gardening, health & safety, special needs assistant.  Ph Maura 513492.

 Authority

I am sure we all know people who question authority - maybe ourselves from time to time.  Imagine the world we would have without authority.  We would not survive in it, nor qualify for life everlasting in the presence of God.

But authority must be fair.  It must listen, it must have respect and dispense its duties in an equal fashion.  Should this be the case then there would be unquestionable respect for authority.

Do we listen to people or organisations who fumble, mutter and lack clarity.  We do not, but have a yearning for authority that will direct us towards a good life on earth and in heaven.  St Mark says, His teaching made a good impression on them because he taught them with authority."

1ST FRIDAY HEALING MASS
1st Friday Healing Mass on next Friday,3rd, at 7.30pm.  All welcome.

 BLESSING OF THROATS
Friday 3rd is also the Feast of St Blaise.  Throats will be blessed at 7.45am, 10.00am & 7.30pm Masses.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR CONSECRATED LIFE
Mass for all religious in Tullamore and surrounding areas, Thursday 2nd at 7.30pm, Church of the Assumption.

 DIOCESAN LITURGICAL COMMISSION
