Freedom of Forgiveness

Some of the most encouraging words in Sunday’s readings must be, "It is I who wipe out your offences; your sins, I remember no more". (Is 43:25)

When we think of the many times God has forgiven us our sins, and reflect on how hard it is for us to forgive others at times, we have much to learn about compassion and accepting other people as they are.

When we forgive, we help ourselves as well as others. It is a sign of strength, not weakness, to forgive another; give them a sense of self-worth and respect on which to build a better life.

We can let go of the paralysis of unforgiveness today and experience God’s healing as we say: "you are forgiven". (Mark 2:5)
