HE IS RISEN, ALLELUIA

Over the last couple of days we have been reminding ourselves of the suffering and death of Jesus.  Does this mark the end? Today's gospel gradually picks up momentum.  We hear of two disciples of Jesus running to the tomb.  What spurred them on? Was it curiosity? Maybe fear? Neither really, there is more a sense that they were beginning to catch on to the fact that the death of Jesus was not the final act nor the last word.  All his prophecies began to make sense to them.  The news that he had risen spread like wildfire and crystallised their belief and hope in Jesus.  He had conquered death and was offering eternal life to all.  So on this Easter Day we ask Jesus to instil in us the same eagerness, enthusiasm and hope of his disciples.  We pray for a renewal of our faith so that we also can be true disciples of Christ. Remember it is our faith and not the empty tomb that proves the resurrection.  Lord we believe, help our unbelief.  This day was made by the Lord we rejoice and are glad knowing He is risen. “You don't need proof You need faith”

GOODBYE AND THANKS

This weekend we say ‘goodbye’ to Fr Dennis, who returns to India next week.  We thank him for all the good works he did while he was with us.

“From the very outset I Fr. Dennis Abraham wish you all the Joy and peace of the Easter. May the risen Lord bless all of you.  Easter event should be celebrated in our hearts.   If we give Jesus the first place in our life and encounter Him in our brethren, we can sing  genuinely ‘yes’ Jesus is truly risen. “ALLELUIA”  Through baptism we died with Christ and rose to  the new life with him.

I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to Rev. Mgr. Sean Heaney the parish priest and to Rev. Frs. Shane Crombie cc, Padraig Corcoran, Seamus O’Conner cc and the parishioners of Tullamore for your love concern, prayers and the warm welcome extended to me. I really enjoyed my stay here. When I go back to India on 17th of April I will really miss you all. Thanks a million to everyone. Special thanks to Rev. Mgr. Sean Heaney for his loving invitation and for his great heart. May God bless you.
