PARISH CENTRE UPDATE:
Next weekend sees the start of a major fundraising campaign for our new parish centre. We hope to have the full support of all our parishioners in this venture. So watch out for a special hand out with all the details next week.

CALLED TO LISTEN
The most important words for me in Sundays Gospel are: "Listen to him." These are challenging words in our noisy, busy world, where the call and the temptation is to be active and pack as much as possible into our day.
Sometimes the need to be listened to is greater than the need to be helped. We can be so busy at times talking to God that we never really listen to Him, speaking to us through the Church and through each other.
"This is my Son....listen to Him." (Lk 9:35). These words come from God the Father for us, as much as for Peter, James and John.
We can grow mature in grace as Christians when we open ourselves to God's words of encouragement and love, as we look forward to when,
".... He will change our weak mortal bodies and make them like His own". Philippians 3:21.
