Blind Faith!

The heartfelt cry of Bartimaeus in Sunday's Gospel, "Lord that I may see", must
find an echo in our hearts.  It may remind us of our own cry of faith and hope
to the Lord many times in our lives, for good health, our children, forgiveness,
freedom from despair.

It is a wonderful lesson of perseverence in prayer; not being discouraged,
believing that even when I see no results, Jesus is listening and will honour
my act of faith in Him.

When I pray the words of the blind Bartimaeus, may it open my eyes to see more
clearly the needs of my neighbour, my community and respond to them.

May I not be blinkered and blinded by the call of the noisy world but
open to the call of Jesus who has the message of healing and hope.

"Go, your faith has healed you." (Mk 10:52)
