The Challenge

This is a great season for challenges as we approach the concluding stages of our club and All Ireland championships.  There will be winners and losers.  If we think about it, it is easier to lose than to win.  Those who work hard and have the greatest will to win will be victorious.

As a test of our faith, many challenges are put to us in today's readings:
"Believe or not believe" - St John;
"If you will not serve the Lord, chose today whom you wish to serve" - Joshua;
Jesus said to the twelve, "What about you, do you want to go away too?"  Simon Peter answered, "Lord who shall we go to? You have the message of eternal life and we believe; we know you are the Holy One of God".

So in conclusion, who do we want to serve and do we wish to achieve life everlasting in the presence of God?  If the answer is "yes", then working at our faith is a life long challenge.
