Sinners' Friend

As the song says, "what a friend we have in Jesus", and that is so true in our Gospel story today.  We see what happens when sinner (the woman in adultery) and mercy (Jesus) meet.
When others condemned, Jesus forgave.
When others judged, Jesus was compassionate.
When others pointed the finger of accusation, Jesus wrote in the sand.
The mercy of God is calling us back to new life.
Today's Gospel should fill us with courage to let go of the past and open ourselves to an experience of God's love.
"Go now and leave your life of sin". (Jn 8:11)
