Nothing in this world is impossible to a willing heart.
AM I WILLING? Sunday’s Gospel should raise many questions in our hearts. We read about Jesus “moved with compassion” then “embraced the leper”, and ask ourselves what do we do with our compassion; how do we respond? Do we embrace or reach out to the homeless, the handicapped, the hungry the sick and lonely, those who live alone and are fearful in our society? Are we willing to take a risk and reach out to the ‘untouchables’ in our lives? And when we hear the question or the need, “if you want to, you can help”, will our answer be like Jesus, “I am willing” (Mark 1:40-41). When we are reconciled with God we can say with conviction, “whatever we do, we do it for the glory of God”, (1 Cor 10:31). When we are healed, surely like the leper, we too would want to spread the news. Nothing in this world is impossible to a willing heart.

before Friday next, 27th. VOLUNTARY MISSIONARY MOVEMENT
Next weekend a volunteer representing the Voluntary Missionary Movement, will be speaking at Masses. VMM is a lay Catholic missionary organisation who's members volunteer to work alongside local communities in the developing world. VMM was founded in Ireland in 1969, and since then it has sent more than 1500 missionaries overseas. We recruit and prepare committed people from a wide variety of professional backgrounds to work in the developing world. However, in order for us to support our volunteers and projects, we depend on the kindness and generosity of the public. So any contributions donated, however small, would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to coming and speaking in your parish.
