The Quality of Mercy....... Years ago, even Shakespeare wrote about the special quality of mercy, but God’s mercy is much wider than ours, his judgements more merciful. Today’s story of Zacchaeus shows that God is merciful to all and spares all things because we belong to him. It shows his boundless love for sinners and gives us the message that nobody is beyond redemption, nobody is a hopeless case. The call of Jesus, ‘I must stay in your house today’, goes out to everyone in the community. Let us respond by owing up to our sins and opening our heart to his goodness. ‘The Son of Man has come to seek out and save what was lost’, Lk 19:10
Regrets look back. Worry looks around Faith looks up.
