Lent is a time for reflection in our lives. As the winter fades and we wait for spring and the hope of Easter, the Church encourages us to refocus our lives, consider where our faith fits into it and turn back to God. It is a time when we are asked to look at right relationships â with God and with each other.
This weekend we begin our annual Lenten journey. We are invited to take time to remind ourselves of Jesus' forty days in the desert, and his passage towards his passion, death and resurrection.
What do we want to do this Lent? How do we want to use these forty days?
This is also a time to give thanks; to be reminded of the gifts God has given us and consider how we have used them. Trócaire's Lenten theme this year asks us to reflect on the many women affected by poverty in the country of Malawi. Take the Trócaire Box home with you this weekend and make it part of your Lenten journey.
