Christmas

REVISED WEEKEND MASS TIMES

A requirement for the recommencement of Masses is that services should not exceed one hour (including entrance and exit times) and that there should be at least one hour between services to allow for cleaning, ventilation and to avoid crowding or overlap.

To meet this requirement, Mass times will be revised in the Parish commencing weekend of Sunday December 13th.

Vigil Masses: 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm.

Day Masses: 7:00 am, 9:00 am, 11:00 am, and 1:00 pm.

Durrow: 11:30 am.

Advent Prayer
God of power and mercy open our hearts in welcome. Remove the things
that hinder us from receiving Christ with joy so that we may share His
wisdom and become one with Him when he comes in glory, for He lives
and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

CHRISTMAS MASS TIMES

At Christmas time many people want to come to Mass. This year presents a particular challenge because of the restricted numbers we can safely have in our churches. Tullamore Church is divided into three zones; each accommodating 50 people. Durrow Church will hold a total of 38 people.

We are putting on as many extra Masses as we can to accommodate as many people as possible.

• Tickets are essential for our Christmas Masses as with them people will know the Mass and the zone in the Church to which they can go.

• Tickets for Christmas will be available in the Parish Centre from Monday 14th. Dec. We ask people to enter the Parish Centre from the Church grounds door and exit onto Benburb Street.

If people cannot get to Mass on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day there is the possibility of coming the following weekend, or some time during the 12 days of the Christmas period. We ask for your co-operation and understanding at this time.

Christmas Eve Mass Times: 4:00 pm, 6:00 pm, 8:00 pm, 10:00 pm, 12:00 midnight & 12:00 midnight in Durrow.

Christmas Day: 7:00 am, 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm & 11:30 am in  Durrow.

This letter from Shalom World explains what it is and how you can use it:

Dear Father Joe,

Hope you and your parishioners are keeping safe and healthy!

I am pleased to write to you on behalf of Shalom World ministries. Shalom World is a 24/7 commercial free Catholic television network for the whole family https://shalomworld.org/.

Given the COVID-19 precautionary measures, our churches are inaccessible for the faithful. Participation in the daily sacraments is beyond reach for them. Shalom World TV, a Catholic media ministry of the Shalom Ministries, is an official partner with the Vatican and is authorized to telecast papal liturgies directly via its free high-definition television channel. Shalom World is committed to producing free yet high-quality Catholic content such as Daily Mass, devotionals, shows, music, youth programs, children’s programs, conventions, retreats, and cultural exchange segments. The programming is absolutely free and can be watched live or on-demand. The most recent addition, in response to COVID-19, is a 4th channel to the existing 3 channels, for exclusive live telecast of daily Holy Mass around the clock, with special prayers for an end to coronavirus .

We are broadcasting Daily Mass Live from Saints Peter and Paul's Church, Portlaoise, Co. Laois at 10:00 am everyday during this challenging time.

Bishop Denis Nulty, Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin is our patron in Ireland  and Shalom World is endorsed by Catholic leaders from around the globe .

As a parish, your parishioners can now access Shalom World TV via the Shalom Media Gallery tool that can be integrated into the parish website in simple, easy steps. When parishioners visit the parish website, the floating icon will only be a click away to their favourite programs without ever leaving the parish site.
