Prayer of St John Henry Newman
May the Lord support us all the day long, till the shadows lengthen and the
evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over
and our work is done. Then in His love and mercy may he give us and all our
beloved a safe lodging, a holy rest and peace at the last. Amen.

It was with great sadness that the people of Tullamore learned of the death of Thomas Gallagher, Charleville Road, Tullamore earlier today - Mon. 5th. Oct. 2020.

Thomas was the father of our P.P., Father Joe Gallagher. We extend the condolences of our parishioners to Thomas's beloved wife, Joan, his children Fr. Joseph, Maria, Gerard, Paul and Damien and his grandchildren.

You can see the full obituary notice <<here>>

Congratulations to the children from Saint Joseph's School who received the Eucharist for the first time last weekend. We wish God’s blessing on them, their families, friends and teachers and all who helped them on their faith journey at this special time.

We are using a ticket system for all weekend Masses so as to control the numbers in the church and in each section of the church.  This is for the safety of those attending Mass.  Tickets for Masses are available in the Parish Centre. We request your continued co-operation.  We value the opportunity of being able to come to church and support one another as a community.

Regrettably, it has not been possible to celebrate Cemetery Sunday in our cemeteries this year.  We deferred making any decisions in the hope that it might be possible to have our usual celebrations.  It is now clear that such celebrations are not possible this year so we have decided that the priests of the parish will bless the graves in Clonminch, Durrow and Kilbride cemeteries during the coming week.

A Mass for all who are buried in our cemeteries will be celebrated in Tullamore Church on Saturday next, 3rd of October at 5:00pm.  Tickets will be available in the Parish Centre, subject to the usual limit.  However, all may watch the Mass on the parish webcam and we ask you to notify your relatives who live away from Tullamore, of this Mass.

Due to current restrictions we have had to cancel cemetery services in both Tullamore and Durrow. The upkeep of both cemeteries runs into thousands of euro each year, we have left envelopes in the church if you wish to make a donation.  Please drop envelope into collection box or to Parish Centre. Thank you.

BAPTISM: Baptisms have recommenced and booking can now be made at the Parish Office.

CONFESSIONS: Confessions will be from 2.00 - 3.00pm on Saturdays.

SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE: To book the Church for weddings, contact the Parish Secretary.

Living Slow: John O Donohue

This is the time to be slow,
Lie low to the wall
Until the bitter weather passes.

Try, as best you can, not to let
The wire brush of doubt
Scrape from your heart
All sense of yourself
And your hesitant light.

If you remain generous,
Time will come good;
And you will find your feet
Again on fresh pastures of promise,
Where the air will be kind
And blushed with beginning.
