Lord God, may we be grateful for our lot, and compassionate toward all those who are suffering
every kind of distress at this difficult time. May we hold back nothing,
and hasten to be the ministers of prayer and mercy, like the disciples of Him
who went about doing good in times of need..  Amen.

This year marks the 18th year of the summer series of Organ Concerts which has now gained a firm place in the national summer cultural calendar.
The concerts centre on the wonderful Danish-built Frobenius organ in the Church of the Assumption in Tullamore, one of the largest and best pipe organs in the country.
The artistic director is Professor Gerard Gillen and the first concert on Tuesday, 5 July, features the renowned Flemish organist Jan Vermeire in his debut recital in Ireland.
He will share the evening with the prize-winning Chamber Choir of the Academy of Music, Tullamore, under the direction of Ciaran Brady, who will give us some spectacular examples of their choral virtuoso before heading off to Germany where they will represent the country in a prestigious competitive choral festival.
The second concert on Tuesday 12 July, will be given by Shane Brennan, Arts Education Officer for the Midlands and a concert organist of distinction who held previous positions as Director of the Schola Cantorum of St Finian's College Mullingar, and Organist and Director of Music in Mullingar Cathedral.
Shane last played in this series in 2001 and Prof Gillen said it will be a pleasure to welcome him back to Tullamore.
The third concert on Tuesday, 19 July, features Portlaoise-born organist Charles Marshall with talented 13-year-old local violinist Ellen Reilly and her teacher, the American-born cellist now resident in Tullamore, Adele O'Dwyer.
The final concert on Tuesday, 26 July, features one of the Germany's leading organists Rolf Henry Kunz, from Frankfurt-am-Main, who will introduce the audience to the music, old and new, from the land of Johann Sebastian Bach.
The concerts are supported by Offaly County Council, The Tullamore Court Hotel and the Trench Trust.
