My Father, help me to speak the truth and guard the truth,
That righteousness may be an abiding influence in my life. Amen

On Sunday December 6th, Deacon Noel Weir, from Clonminch, will be ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Smith, in a ceremony in the Church of the Assumption. The Ordination Mass takes place at 3.00pm and all are invited.  The ceremony is very beautiful and moving.
Noel will offer his First Mass of Thanksgiving on Monday December 7th at 6.30pm.  This is the Vigil Mass for the feast of the Immaculate Conception.  The Mass will be followed by a reception in St Mary's Youth Centre.  Noel will give his first blessing after Mass.

It is very appropriate that on the weekend when a new priest is to be ordained in our parish, we also publish "The Priesthood" a beutiful and thought provoking video by Father Shane. Click Here, or visit our Video Library further down.

Parish Debt, as of the end of September, is €1,024,952.  We aim to get it to one million euro by the end of December.  This is ambitious but we feel that it is achievable. There is a Christmas Parish Draw taking place with tickets €2; €10 for a book of six.  We ask for your support. At this time of year and through Christmas our collections are generally at their strongest.  Your regular support for the Envelope and Plate Collections are enabling a real improvement in parish finances. We are making a steady progress in reducing our debt and we wish to thank Parishioners for your continued generosity.

On Tuesday 17th at 7.30pm, in the Church of the Assumption, we will support and pray for parents who have lost a child.  At this service we pray for all parents, family members and friends who have had to cope with the tragic and untimely death of their infant, child, teenager or adult son or daughter.  We will also remember with love and celebrate the lives of babies who have died before or around the time of birth.  We welcome parents who have undergone the trauma of abortion.  During the service, prayer teams will be available to pray with individuals or couples, for healing from their pain and grief.

The Meath Diocese has launched a special calendar to promote vocations to the priesthood in our Diocese.  The calendar features 12 priests from the Diocese, including Bishop Michael Smith. It is a beautiful production full of colour. The purpose of the calendar is to celebrate God's gift of priesthood and to bring it closer to us. The cost is €5 and proceeds go to vocations promotion. The calendars are available after all Masses this weekend and in the Parish Centre. Please support this cause.

If you have old currency lying around and would like to dispose of it, why not drop it into the Parish Centre.  This will be used to help reduce the debt on the Parish Centre.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is celebrated in Polish at 2.30pm in the Church of the Assumption on the 4th Sunday of every month.

The next available Baptism dates are Sat 21st & Sat 28th Nov. in Tullamore & Sunday 13th. Dec. in Durrow.  The pre-baptism meeting for these dates is on Wed. 18th. Nov.  To book in for the meeting and baptisms, contact the Parish Secretary, at the Parish Office, Mon-Fri, 9.30am-5.00p.m.

The Midlands Science Festival is a real and tangible example of how we can teach children about the wonders of the world in a simple and hands-on way. It will hopefully instill in the young students a love of learning, particularly about science and the world around them.:
