Bless me with Knowledge to know right from wrong, Fortitude to stand up and be strong,
Understanding to follow God’s way, Piety to worship and pray,
Counsel to enlighten and guide me, Wisdom to feel Your presence beside me,
And Fear of the Lord to always be awed by the mighty wonders of our God! Amen.

The Requiem Mass for Mons. Willie Cleary was celebrated in the Church of the Assumption at 12.00 noon on Thursday 23rd. July 2015. After Mass his remains were removed to Clonminch cemetery for burial.
"The death of former Parish Priest of Tullamore, Mons. Willie Cleary, has been greeted with widespread sadness and shock. Mons. Cleary, better known as Father Willie, was visiting friends in the town when he became unwell and was taken to Tullamore hospital. From there he was transferred to St. James hospital in Dublin but he returned to Tullamore afterwards and, according to those who visited him, he was in good form. However, sadly, he died quite suddenly on Sunday evening, July 19th. Fr Willie was an extremely popular parish priest who took a great interest in the community of Tullamore. A native of Rathwire in the parish of Killucan, he was ordained on the 22nd of June 1959 and served for two years in Castlecomer (Diocese of Ossory). He returned to the Diocese of Meath and ministered as chaplain to St Loman's Hospital for seven years until 1967, following which he was curate in the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar becoming Administrator in July 1980. He was appointed Parish Priest of Kilcormac in 1988 and subsequently Parish Priest of Tullamore in December 1989. He became Vicar General of the Diocese of Meath in 1994. In 2004 at the age of 70 having served for 15 years in Tullamore, he retired as parish priest and moved to Mornington where he served as curate. As a strong advocate of lay involvement in the church a large number of parish groups were set up under his auspices. He also had a deep love of music and singing at mass and always encouraged people to participate in the hymns during the liturgy." (Camilla McLoughlin - Tullamore Tribune)

The Mark Heffernan Trust has provided a defibrillator for Tullamore Parish and community and this is located in the church grounds adjacent to the Parish Community Centre. This is the 33rd defibrillator that the trust has deployed.   Established in April 2010 by the family of Mark Heffernan, the Trust was set up to tackle Sudden Adult Death Syndrome through a number of means. Tullamore is unique in Ireland for it possesses two of Ireland’s unique top quality pipe organs, a few metres from each other, and they are of such contrasting character, design and ethos, yet both are authentic to their time and origin: the historic 1857 instrument by Irish organ builder William Telford and the large Danish instrument built by Frobenius in 1965 and installed in Tullamore in 1994.
