Prayer Live Lent

Live Lent

His state was divine, yet he did not cling to his equality with God but emptied himself to assume the condition of a slave, and became as men are; and being as all men are, he was humbler yet, even to accepting death, death on a cross.

But God raised him high and gave him the name which is above all other names so that all beings in the heavens, on earth and in the underworld, should bend the knee at the name of Jesus and that every tongue should acclaim Jesus Christ as Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

This statement of St. Paul form he Letter of St. Paul to the Phillippians sums up the reasons why we should all live Lent.

We celebrate the generous love of our Saviour by acts of Penance so that we can more joyfully celebrate his victory over sin and death in the great feast of Easter.

Grace before Meals:
Bless us O Lord, and these your gift, which of your bounty we receive through Christ our Lord – Amen

Grace after Meals:
We give you thanks, almighty God, for these and all your benefits, who lives and reigns world without end. - Amen

Act of Sorrow:
O my God, I thank you for loving me. I am sorry for all my sins, for not loving others and not loving you. Help me to live like Jesus, and not sin again. – Amen

Morning Offering:
God Our Father you love me, you are with me night and day. I want to love you always in all I do and say. I try to please you Father, bless me through this day – Amen

Night Prayer:
Save us Lord, while we are awake, protect us while we sleep that we may keep watch with Christ and rest with him in peace. Send your angels to watch over us this night that we may wade to sing you praise. - Amen
