The Diocese hosts its annual pilgrimage to Lourdes in September and a special pilgrimage to Spain (25 Sept-6 Oct).
Further details of these trips follow a personal reflection by Pat Kidney.

I found myself on my way to Fatima for the first time.  It was not a trip I had planned.... a kind of working holiday, I suppose, accompanied by my old friend and well-known local musician, Joe Rabbitte.  We would provide the music ministry and a little sing-song in our hotel at night.
Once the bags are packed and the tickets and passports ready, the excitement starts to grow within.  I knew we were going to one of the great "Marian Shrines" of the world and it had changed the hearts of so many people.  By now I was optimistic.
From Lisbon airport our journey took about one and a half hours by coach, uphill all the way.  Fatima, where Our Lady first appeared in 1917, is situated on a mountain top.  I knew little about this place or its people, but what lay in wait for us was so beautiful and impossible to put into words.  At first sight, Fatima looked simple, quiet and peaceful.
We arrived at our hotel and the first thing I had to see was this huge Sanctuary that I had read a little about.  It is the biggest Marian Shrine in the world and can hold three quarters of a million people.  My first impressions was, ‘wow'!  My second thoughts were that in a fairly small town like Fatima, with so little people, I am sure I will never see it full!  How wrong I was.  Two days later on 13th May, it was packed to capacity.
We were here for seven days.  There was a lot to see, a lot to do and I will always remember the words of our excellent guide on the first day, referring to Our Lady, "put your hand in her hand as the three little shepherds did and she will lead you as she led them to the ‘Chapel of Peace'."
We leave again for Fatima from our parish in Tullamore, led by our Spiritual Director Fr John Nally, on May 11th-18th.  We would love if you could join us on our journey to this wonderful place where ‘heaven meets earth'.  If you cannot read the story of Fatima, hear again and again, Our Lady requesting you to say the Family Rosary.  The words will forever ring in your heart, "my immaculate heart will be your refuge, my immaculate heart will triumph."
 - Pat Kidney.
