REJOICE: BE JOYFUL!We are encouraged to be joyful as Christmas is very near. Isaiah tells us that ‘he exults for joy in the Lord’ and that he rejoices because God has kept his promises. St Paul also tells us that we should be happy because God will not fail us. Both Isaiah and John the Baptist call us to “Prepare a way for the Lord”; both in our own lives and in the lives of those near and dear to us. John the Baptist’s one desire was to glorify Jesus and not draw attention to himself. This is the true path to greatness; a path that we should try to follow. A path of humility, courage and a commitment to bear witness to the light of Christ. Lord, we know that true beauty is a reflection of what is in the heart. Let your light shine in our lives to brighten our behaviour and attitudes. In our many Christmas anxieties do not let us forget the strength and peace your love offers us. May we, like John the Baptist, have the courage to witness to you, bringing joy and hope to our family, to our friends and to our neighbourhood.
Whatever you do may seem insignificant, but it is important that you do it.

COMMUNITY GROUPS PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Hospital Chapel: ‘An outstanding spiritual growth tends to spring from perpetual adoration. It brings heaven’s choice blessings in the first place on those generous souls that keep their hour long tryst with the Lord. But being such a powerhouse of grace, the devotion extends its influence far beyond the individual adorers, touching their homes and families and reaching out to the parish community and beyond.’ (Fr Richard Foley SJ) Ph 9321232.
