CONFESSIONS Not taking place at the moment. A LENTEN INVITATION TO PRAY THE DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET In Tullamore every day after the 10.00am weekday Mass the Divine Mercy Chaplet is prayedvia the parish webcam. This special and beautiful devotion has been prayed in our parish forover 25 years. Given to St Faustina in 1935, the Lord said that the Divine Mercy Chaplet wasfor the whole world. Our loving Lord attached extraordinary promises to its recitation. Excerpts from the Diary of Saint Faustina: “Encourage souls to pray the Chaplet which I havegiven you. Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death. When they saythis Chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dyingperson, not as the Just Judge but as the Merciful Saviour. Priests will recommend it to sinnersas their last hope of salvation. Even if they were a sinner most hardened, if they were torecite this Chaplet only once, they would receive grace from My infinite mercy. I desire togrant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My mercy. Through the Chaplet youwill obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My will.” Prayed on ordinary rosary beads, the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy is an intercessory prayerthat extends the offering of the Most Holy Eucharist, so it is especially appropriate to prayafter having received Holy Communion at Holy Mass. It may be said at any time. Our Lordspecifically told St Faustina to recite the Chaplet during the nine days before the Feast ofMercy (the first Sunday after Easter). Our Lord added: “By the Novena [of Chaplets], I willgrant every possible grace to souls.” It is also most fitting to pray the Chaplet during the "Hour of Great Mercy" ~ three o'clockeach afternoon (recalling the time of Christ's death on the cross). In His revelations to StFaustina, Our Lord asked for a special remembrance of His Passion at that hour. Praying theDivine Mercy helps us to meditate on the mystery of the Lord’s Cross. We hope that you willjoin us in the recitation of this very special devotion. May Almighty God bless you and yourfamilies.
