SEEING YOUR LIFE THROUGH THE LENS OF THE GOSPEL

1. The reading evokes contrasting images of God, a God who judges and a God who saves. We might reflect on how our image of God has changed with the years. What has helped you to believe in a God whose will is that you should have eternal life?

2. God sent his Son into the world for this purpose, that we might have eternal life. How has the story of Jesus helped you to have that kind of faith?

3. The eternal life promised is life that begins now, and survives all forms of death, failure, defeat and humiliation. What has helped you to have that sense of being alive, even in painful and disappointing circumstances?

REOPENING OF OUR CHURCHES FOR PUBLIC MASS

Volunteers Needed

We are currently making our preparations for resumption of public Masses so that we can be ready as soon as the national roadmap allows us to do so.We are making an appeal for help. We need many volunteers. We need volunteers to help in the sanitising of the church after each Mass. We need volunteers to act as stewards at the doors of the church and inside.  Please leave your name either by email or by phone or calling to the Parish Centre.   We need as many names as possible in order to be able to draw up a rota.

DURROW PATTERN

Next Tuesday June 9th is the Feast of St Columcille. This feast is normally celebrated in our parish with Mass, 1st. Communion, procession to the well and sports afternoon in Durrow. This year we will mark the feast at the 10:00 am Mass in Tullamore, which will be available on web cam and parish radio.  1st. Communion will take place at a later date and meanwhile, we will remember our young people and their families in a special way at this time.

 CORPUS CHRISTI

One of the many casualties of the Covid 19 Pandemic is our annual Corpus Christi Procession, which should take place on Sat 13thafter the Vigil Mass.  To mark the occasion this year we will have a Holy Hour from Tullamore Church after the Saturday Vigil Mass.  We invite all who can, to take time off and join the web cam or parish radio, for this hour of prayer.  We feel that this will be a worthy way to mark the feast of Corpus Christi.  All of the Priests of our Parish will take part and make an input into our prayer.  Please join us.

DEATHS

We offer our sympathy to the families of James Beatty, Sean O’Sullivan & Thomas Murray.
