The Measure of Love

Jesus doesn't ask us to fall in love with our enemies - that would be totally unreal! However, we are challenged to be stubbornly gracious to them; to refuse to repay violence with violence; to be concerned for their welfare. Hatred can be defeated only by love; injury healed only by forgiveness; evil controlled only by goodness. Love creates its own reality, its own force for goodness and is a gift that creates worth in others.
