Calling All Sinners

In today's readings we see how Isaiah calls himself "a man of unclean lips" (Is 6:5); St Paul claims to be "the least of the Apostles" (1 Corr 15:9); and St Peter protests to Jesus that he "is a sinful man" (Lk 5:8).
These were the sinners that Jesus called on to save sinners. He makes that call today to us sinners, just as He did then.
Will He find someone among us today willing to respond to that call and to co-operate with Him? Can we resist it?
God forgave Isaiah so that he could preach forgiveness (Is 6:8); he forgave St Paul so that he could pass on the news of Christ's death and resurrection (Lk 15:3-4); he forgave St Peter so that he could become a "fisher of men" (Lk 5:10).
And I said "Here I am. Send me!" (Is 6:8)

Month's Memories & 1st Anniversaries: As has been the case for a number of years, 7.00pm & 8.30pm Masses on Saturdays and 11.30am Mass on Sundays, in the Church of the Assumption are kept for month's memories & 1st anniversaries only. While we appreciate that all anniversaries are important for families, we feel that we have to ensure that families who are recently bereaved should be able to have their Masses as near to the date as possible. To further ensure this we have also added 1.00pm on Sunday to the list of kept Masses.
