  Jesus is the Messiah

In today's Gospel, Luke tells us of his motivation to write an orderly account ‘of the events that have taken place among us', namely the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as recorded by eye-witnesses.

Luke describes a very significant event, where Jesus reveals that he is fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah.  In other words, he is the Messiah.

We read and hear short excerpts from sacred scripture, the Word of God, at Mass on Sundays.  However, we miss a lot of the Good News of Salvation, if we do not read the whole story in the Bible; particularly the New Testament.

If you want a less stressful life, in this hostile age of consumerism, read fewer newspapers, watch less television and begin to read the Bible.  Perhaps John's Gospel for a start.  The Good News about  the love of Jesus will revive you.
