MESSENGERS OF PEACE
Am I a messenger or bearer of peace? I hope so!
When I meet a person in their home, in the street or at work, how do I greet them? Is it with peace in my heart and a smile? Jesus says: "Whatever house you go into, let your first words be âpeace be to this house'." Lk 10:5.
As Jesus sent out his disciples to pass on this peace to others, he was also inviting us to be messengers of peace. In a world of noise, rush, greed, where "the harvest is rich, but the labourers are few" Lk 10:2, what a precious God-given gift we have to offer when we carry peace in our hearts to others.
This gift is possible and available through prayer and the Eucharist.
