f I settle on the far side of the sea
even there your hand will guide me

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY

On Sunday, 20th October, Pope Francis is asking you and every catholic Worldwide to come together in celebration of World Mission Sunday.  On this very special day, every church, in every parish across our globe will give what they can, no matter how little towards the World Mission Sunday collection.  Your contribution will be used to help spread faith, hope and love by supporting overseas missionaries, many of whom work in some of the worlds most impoverished and remote communities.

NIGHT OF LIGHT CELEBRATION OF HALLOWEEN

Halloween means ‘the evening of the Saints’ and while it has been re designated by culture as a night of goblins and ghouls, the whole idea of Halloween is the preparation for the great feast of All Saints Day November 1st.
To mark this, there is a party for kids in the Parish Centre, 5.30-7.30pm on Thursday 31st.  October, Fun, food and games, with a little dash of prayer!  Children are invited to come along dressed as…. their favourite Saint!

LIST OF THE DEAD
November is the month when we pray especially for the dead.November 1st is the feast of all the saints & Nov 2nd is the Commemoration of the faithful departed.

Both feast days remind us that our life on earth will come to its end, & the hope & promise of eternal life with God is there for all of us.

An important tradition in Ireland is writing down the names of our departed friends &  relations on the Altar List of the Dead.  The list is compiled every November & Mass is offered for those on it at all List of the Dead Masses in November & every first Friday for the coming twelve months.

Take time with your family to write the list.  Think of family, friends & neighbours over the years.  Particularly remember those who have no one to pray for them. Dead lists are available in the church.  Please fill one out, if you would like to do so & drop into the Sacristy or the Parish Centre over the coming weeks.
