19 November 2019
Dear Jesus, our great High Priest, Hear our humble prayers
on behalf of your priest, Father Shane. Give him a deep faith,
a bright and firm  hope and a burning love which will ever
increase in the course of his priestly life. Amen.

GOODBYE & THANK YOU

In November 2005 I arrived in this parish and over 14 years I have had the privilege to serve as your priest.  As I prepare to leave and move to take on new challenges, I would like to sincerely thank you, and the many visitors who come here.  I have come to appreciate and love the goodness, kindness, generosity and faith of this community that I have been blessed to call my home.  In a priest you are supposed to see Christ.  I hope in some way my own faith in Jesus has been reflected in any good I have done; and for the occasions I have not been Christlike I am deeply sorry.

I thank my brother priests, the religious sisters and the many lay men and women who work and volunteer in the parish for your support and friendship.  But most of all I thank Almighty God, for giving me the blessing of his vocation and allowing me to serve here in Tullamore.

I will celebrate my final Masses in the parish next weekend 6.30pm Saturday, 10.00am Sunday and 12.00 noon Durrow Pattern.  I ask all of you to pray for me; and to keep the Faith of Apostles which is alive and well in this part of the Faithful County.

With every good wish, Fr Shane.
