12 November 2019
Dear Lord, as we set about to begin our journey we ask that Your hand of protection
would be upon us. We ask that You would put angels round about us. We ask that You
would give us wisdom and sound discretion as we ride. We pray that as we ride You
would give us the energy and fortitude to enjoy the ride and to finish the course.

VOCATIONS SUNDAY

Today the Church throughout the world prays for vocations. Will you make a special effort to ask the Lord for more vocations to the priesthood and religious life?
Pray for the Priests who have ministered to you throughout your life, both living and dead.  Keep your parish priests in your prayers throughout the week.  Encourage your children, grandchildren, or other young people to consider a vocation as a priest or religious brother or sister.  Pray the Rosary for more young people in our Diocese to respond to God’s call. There will be a collection taken up today for Vocations in the Diocese.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

Congratulations to the children from Scoil Bhríde who received the Eucharist for the first time last Sunday.  We wish God’s blessing on them, their families, friends and teachers and all who helped them on their faith journey to this special time.

FATHER SHANE TO LEAVE TULLAMORE

This is very sad news for the parish and people of Tullamore who will miss Father Shane immensely. We will have more on this in the coming weeks. Father Shane's last Mass in our parish will be in Durrow on June 9th.

DURROW HALL

Renovation of Durrow Hall is well under way. The entrance porch and some other small areas have been extended. The new roof is finished. Plumbing and wiring are almost complete. Dry lining and plastering of the whole building is near to completion. The people of Durrow and all who use the hall are looking forward to seeing it re-open for use before too long. <<Click Here>> for some pictures of the work in progress.

CYCLE AGAINST SUICIDE :

Cycle Against Suicide is a national awareness charity that strives to break down the barriers around mental health illness and works to increase awareness of the supports and treatments that are available to empower those affected. While progress has been made in terms of prioritising mental health, the continued impact of the stigma surrounding this issue remains large.   To create a discrimination-free society, Cycle Against Suicide sets out to develop public awareness of its core message: IT’S OK NOT TO FEEL OK; AND IT IS ABSOLUTELY OK TO ASK FOR HELP
