23 July 2018

O Christ, our Morning Star, Splendour of Light Eternal,
shining with the glory of the rainbow, come and waken us from the
Greyness of our apathy, and renew in us Your gift of hope. Amen.
(By Bede the Venerable.)

PLOUGHING is traditionally an early springtime activity in Ireland. Now even though a lot of cereal crops are sown in Autumn, Spring is still a favourite time for "Ploughing Matches". We are delighted to bring you some video footage of the Offaly competition which was held last week. <Click Here>
BLESSING OF THROATS
Friday 3rd is the Feast of St Blaise.  Mass with Blessing of Throats will be at 7.45am, 10.00am and 7.30pm.

AT MASS WE STAND AND SIT AND KNEEL
We are introducing some small changes in when we sit and stand at Mass to bring our liturgy into line with the missal.  We hope that a common practice, which is being used in most parishes throughout the country, will help people feel even more welcome and at home in whatever Church they participate in the celebration of the Eucharist.  We will introduce this change during Lent.

STEWARDS
Collectors and stewards are needed for Saturday Vigil 6:30 p.m., Sunday 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Masses.  If you would like to help please leave your name in the Sacristy.

LITURGY GROUP
The Parish Liturgy Group group looks after the organising of the liturgy in the Parish.  It meets monthly and reviews what has taken place and plans for the future.  We are looking for some extra members for the Parish Liturgy Group.  If you are interested, please contact the parish office.
