ORDINATION TO THE PRIESTHOOD:
On Sunday December 6th, Deacon Noel Weir, from Clonminch, will be ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Smith, in a ceremony in the Church of the Assumption. The Ordination Mass takes place at 3.00pm and all are invited.  The ceremony is very beautiful and moving. 
Noel will offer his First Mass of Thanksgiving on Monday December 7th at 6.30pm.  This is the Vigil Mass for the feast of the Immaculate Conception.  The Mass will be followed by a reception in St Mary's Youth Centre.  Noel will give his first blessing after Mass. 

THE PRIESTHOOD:

POSITIVE MENTAL FITNESS
Dr. Eddie Murphy will deliver a talk on "POSITIVE MENTAL FITNESS" on Tues 10th. at  8pm, in Tullamore Harriers.  Admission is free but booking is necessary on www.midlandssciencefestival.com 

PRAYER SERVICE FOR PARENTS WHO HAVE LOST A CHILD:
On Tuesday 17th at 7.30pm, in the Church of the Assumption, we will support and pray for parents who have lost a child.  At this service we pray for all parents, family members and friends who have had to cope with the tragic and untimely death of their infant, child, teenager or adult son or daughter.

We will also remember with love and celebrate the lives of babies who have died before or around the time of birth.

We welcome parents who have undergone the trauma of abortion.  During the service, prayer teams will be available to pray with individuals or couples, for healing from their pain and grief.

MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION:
The parish hopes to recruit new Ministers of Holy Communion in the coming weeks. Anyone who would like to be considered for this ministry please leave your name and phone number into the Sacristy, Parish Centre or give to any of the Priests.

OLD CURRENCY: 
If you have old currency lying around and would like to dispose of it, why not drop it into the Parish Centre.  This will be used to help reduce the debt on the Parish Centre.

POLISH MASS
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is celebrated in Polish at 2.30pm in the Church of the Assumption on the 4th Sunday of every month. 

BAPTISMS
The next available Baptism dates are Sat 21st & Sat 28th Nov. in Tullamore & Sunday 13th. Dec. in Durrow.  The pre-baptism meeting for these dates is on Wed. 18th. Nov.  To book in for the meeting and baptisms, contact the Parish Secretary, at the Parish Office, Mon-Fri, 9.30am-5.00p.m.

MIDLANDS SCIENCE FESTIVAL
The Midlands Science Festival is a real and tangible example of how we can teach children about the wonders of the world in a simple and hands-on way. It will hopefully instill in the young students a love of learning, particularly about science and the world around them.:
