Viatores Christi

Greetings from Viatores Christi!

Once again, we are contacting you in order to help us continue our mission by publicising our upcoming information day in Dublin.

Thanks to your help in the past, we have had several people from the Diocese of Meath serve as lay missionaries overseas and we also have several who are hoping to go on mission in the future.  Maeve Bracken, from the Diocese, will leave for Haiti in January 2008. She completed the 2005/6 Viatores Christi Lay Missionary Preparatory Programme will go on mission as to the Orphanage Ste Hélène run by Our Little Brothers and Sisters.  There she will work with the Director of the orphanage and will share her life, skills and faith with others for at least two years.

I would appreciate if you could include the following piece in your newsletter:

Bring Your Skills To The Developing World!

Since 1960, Viatores Christi (Catholic lay missionary development workers), has aimed to respond to needs overseas and at home by giving people an opportunity to share their lives and skills with those in need.  People from all backgrounds and professions join Viatores Christi - people who want to challenge themselves to make a difference in the world, however big or small.

Viatores Christi lay missionary development workers are assigned to projects which deal with a range of social and justice issues throughout the world including AIDS/HIV projects, displaced peoples, healthcare, intellectual disability, education and indigenous peoples.  We need people from all disciplines, from teachers to electricians, doctors to administrators, farmers to childcare workers.
