Hello,

We received this letter on Friday from Alfonso Cardinal Lopez Trujillo, President, Pontifical Council for the Family.  We just wanted to share with you the joy that this letter of encouragement has given to all of us who are working on the first National Grandparents Pilgrimage and National Children's Prayer Appeal.  Let us pray that the Pope will write a prayer for Grandparents because there is no doubt that this will be a great boost to all the grandparents in Ireland and indeed throughout the world.
In the build-up to the Pilgrimage, we launched an appeal for 10,000 prayers, written by grandchildren, in honour of their grandmothers and grandfathers and perhaps you would be kind enough to include it in your weekly newsletter.
We are delighted to tell you that we have now received well over 1,000 prayers from the children of Ireland.  We would like also to thank you for all your help and encouragement and we ask please for your continuing support.

In the meantime, love and prayers,

Catherine
