Proposed new Parish Centre

 

THE PROPOSED PARISH CENTRE WILL BE LOCATED ON THE OLD ST MARY’S HALL SITE.

LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE CHURCH, THE NEW CENTRE CAN AVAIL OF DOUBLE ACCESS FROM BENBURB STREET AND THE CHURCH GROUNDS.
THE SITE WOULD ALSO BENEFIT FROM EXISTING CAR PARKING WITHIN THE CHURCH GROUNDS AND CHURCH CAR PARK

 

 

ST MARY’S HALL

THE OLD ST MARYS HALL IS IN A VERY BAD CONDITION AND HAS NOT BEEN OCCUPIED FOR A FEW YEARS. ROT AND DECAY HAS SET IN SO AS PART OF THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT, IT IS PROPOSED TO DEMOLISH THE EXISITING BUILDING.

  

POPOSED NEW BUILDING

THE NEW PARISH CENTRE IS DESIGNED WITHIN THE CURRENT SITE RESTRICTIONS. THERE IS DUAL ACCESS FROM BENBURB STREET AND THE CHURCH GROUND.
THE NEW BUILDING ALSO HAS LARGE GLAZED AREAS SOUTH FACING NOT ONLY CAPTURING GREAT VIEWS OF THE CHURCH, BUT ALSO BENIFITING FROM SOUTH FACING SUN. THE DESIGN HAS RETAINED PART OF THE EXISTING BOILER HOUSE WHICH CATERS FOR THE CHURCH AND WHICH HAS SOME LOVELY STONE DETAIL.

 

THE NEW BENBURB STREET ELEVATION  IS DESIGNED TAKING THE STREET AS INSPIRATION. THE EAVES AT BOTH ENDS HAVE BEEN LOWERED TO MATCH ADJOINING PROPERTIES,
THE MATERIALS USED WHITIN THE DESIGN ARE A MIX OF TRADITIONAL AND MODERN WITH GRANITE STONE, CEADER TIMBER CLADDING. SMOOTH RENDER AND GLAZED CURTAIN WALLING .
THE END RESULT SOMETHING THAT  BLENDS INTO THE STREET SCAPE

 

 

THE NEW SOUTH FACING ELEVATION IS MAINLY MADE UP OF
LARGE GLAZED AREAS
THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT INCLUDES FOR DEMOLITION OF THE TOILET AREA, BUT RETAINS THE  BEAUTIFUL STONE WORK OF THE BOILER HOUSE.
THE PROXIMITY OF THE CHURCH, AND ITS ARCHITECTURAL BEAUTY HAS BEEN CAPTURED WITHIN THE BUILDING WITH ROOMS CAPURING THE VIEWS FROM THE SOUTHS LARGE GLAZED FAÇADE
