2005 Fr.Shane Crombie

My name is Fr. Shane Crombie and I am the newest addition to the Tullamore team. I am a native of Rahugh, about seven miles from the town in the Kilbeggan parish. I am a relatively new priest, my ordination day being September 25th last. I am the eldest of three brothers. My parents, Sean and Ann, are alive and well, living in Rahugh. My biggest connection with Tullamore is that fact that I was born in the hospital in town in 1979.

After secondary school, I studied for a year as a lay student in Maynooth. After that year I entered the seminary where remained for three more years. I completed the rest of my studies in the Irish College in Rome.

I have many varied interests, including drama, music, and the Westmeath Senior Football team! I hope this won’t prove too troublesome when the football championship gets underway.

This is my first permanent appointment. I have to admit that I am a little nervous, as I am facing the unknown. But I hope that you will be understanding of that and give me a hand when it is needed. Looking forward to getting know you over the time ahead.

See you around.

Fr. Shane
