FOSTER FIRST IRELAND
Foster carers offer a safe and stable family home for children and young people who are unable to live with their own families and are in the care of the State. There are all sorts of reasons why children come into foster care and FFI works with their foster carers to support them for as long as they need it.  If you would like to know whats involved in becoming a foster carer with FFI. Come along to an Information Evening and meet Fostering Advisor Barry and an existing Foster Carer who will be happy to answer any questions you might have. The event will be on Tues. 17th. Oct. 5:30 - 7:30pm. in Tullamore Library

FUNDRAISING CONCERT

FREE EMPLOYMENT SKILLS PROGRAMME
Presented by Offaly LDC, This event will summarise the "Skills for Employment" course which is a 32 week course leading to a Major Award at QQI Level 4 in Employment Skills. The learning is conducted, utilising an adult centred approach and one to one assistance is provided where necessary. It takes place in Tullamore Community Centre, Arden View, 17th. Oct. – 30th. METHODIST HARVEST THANKSGIVING SERVICE
This service will take place in the Methodist Church, Church St. on Sun. 8th. Oct. at 7:30 pm. The Speaker will be Rev. Dr. Sahr Yambasu from Sierra Leone. All welcome to service followed by refreshments.

PARISH MISSION 
Our Parish Mission will be from the 9th. to the 13th. of October. October 13th. marks the 100th. anniversary of the final apparition of Our Lady in Fatima. Each evening will begin with the Rosary at 7:15 pm, followed by Mass, devotions and Benediction with a different 
celebrant each evening: 

Monday 9th. October: Fr. Barry Condron
Fr Barry is a native of Rahan parish and is parish preist of Castletown Geoghegan - Tyrrellspass. Testimony will be given by some young people from our parish, who will also organise the evenings liturgy.  


Tuesday 10th. October: Fr. David Vard
Fr David is from Portlaoise. He was ordained in the last few months and is the youngest priest in Ireland. 


Wednesday 11th. October: Fr. Philip Mulryne OP. 
A member of the Dominican Order, Fr Philip played professional football with Manchester United, Norwich and was capped for Northern Ireland before following the path to priesthood.  


Thursday 12th. October: Fr. John Stapleton.
Parish priest of neighbouring Killeigh, Fr John will reflect on the Holy family – a very important theme in the run up the World Meeting of Families next August, and, please God, the visit of Pope Francis. 


Friday 13th. October: Fr. John Nally
Fr. John Nally. Parish Priest of Ballynacargy, Co. Westmeath, Fr John was curate here for many years and had has lead numerous pilgrimages to Fatima

The next available Baptism dates are Sat. 21st. & Sat 28th. Oct, Sun. 05th. Nov. in Tullamore and Sun. 12th. Nov. in Durrow. The pre-baptism meeting for these dates is on Wednesday 18th. Skills for Employment :

The course is aimed primarily at people in the 18 – 35 age brackets. Learners gain typing skills, internet search methods, knowledge in sending of emails, preparation of CVs and cover letters for job applications, interview preparation and many skills that may be utilised in any work environment. The Work Experience module is invaluable in preparing Learners for work and many course participants are offered employment at the end of their work experience placement.

The group meets in the Presbyterian Church, High St., every Wednesday evening at 7:45 p.m. since July 20th. All Welcome.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is celebrated in Polish at 2.30pm in the Church of the Assumption on the 4th Sunday of every month.
