GOD WANTS ACTION
On the road to Caesarea Philippi, Jesus appointed Peter as leader of his new Christian community, his Church. In spite of his weaknesses, Jesus entrusted him with the mission to continue his work. It is a source of comfort that Jesus has also invited us to be part of his Church.
We can relate to Peter, his failings are common place in our own lives. So who do we say the son of man is? If we acknowledge him we must shape and form the lives we lead and the values we live by. We also need Peter’s faith in Jesus and his deep trust that “the gates of the underworld can never hold out against it” - the church, as Jesus promised. God wants action from us not words.
It isn’t a calamity to die with dreams unfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream. Benjamin E Mays
