THE CALL TO PERFECTION
In today’s Gospel, Jesus spells out in very clear and challenging language what he requires of us, his followers. Not only must we keep the Commandments, but we must do so with a sincere heart. Lip-service and keeping within the letter of the law are not enough, for if our virtue goes no deeper than that of the Scribes and the Pharisees, we will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Jesus requires a full commitment from us. We must start with sincere attitudes and motivation so that our dealings with our neighbours are always virtuous. It is within our power to behave faithfully, to observe God’s law and keep it with our hearts. It is only when the heart and mind are committed that our actions are virtuous.
Faith is that bird that sings
when the dawn is still dark.

PARKING IN CHURCH GROUNDS
We recently announced our plan to restrict car parking in the church grounds to those who, because of disability or age, cannot walk any distance to the Church. To date, seventy persons have applied for a parking permit and all of the applicants seem to have very genuine reasons for applying. We are now processing these applications, and we hope to have permits ready for issue in the near future.
We ask all who come to Mass to understand that the underlying reason for these new arrangements relate to Health & Safety. We trust that we will get full co-operation from all, in making the trip of all disabled persons to Mass safe. Again we advise all or parishioners that the Parish Car Park, which is accessed at St Brigid’s Place, is available free of charge for all Mass goers. It takes less than two minutes to walk from this car park to the Church.
We have set March 1st as the date for implementing the new arrangements and we trust that we can put them in place smoothly and without fuss.

REMEMBER WE ARE ONE
We all drink from one water
We all breathe from one air
We rise from one ocean
And we live under one sky
Remember we are one
The new born baby cries the same
The laughter of children is universal
Everyone’s blood is red
And our hearts beat the same song
Remember we are one
We are all brothers and sisters
Only one family, only one earth
Together we live and together we die
Remember we are one, Remember we are one
Peace Be on You Brothers and Sisters
Peace Be on You
