Love Conquers All

As children, we would constantly ask my mother which of us she loved the most.  Her answer never changed:
... the one who is sick, until he/she has recovered;
... the one who is away from home, until he/she returns;
... the one who is in trouble, until it gets sorted
and so on.

We got the message that love conquered all and that it was a free gift.  The greatest thing on earth is to love and be loved.  Love is God, and if we are true to ourselves as people made in the image and likeness of God, our very reason for existing must be to love.

St Paul does not mean sentimental love, but real love which is patient, kind, selfless, "delights in truth, ready to excuse, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes." (1 Cor. 1:7)
