Bulletin 20-June-2004

WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?

• Today's Gospel challenges us to say whether or not we recognise who Jesus is.

• At times our lack of trust in His loving mercy, might lead one to believe that like the crowds in Galilee, we only have a vague idea about the identity of Jesus.

• Let us pray that like St Peter, the Holy Spirit will inspire us to declare with confidence, that Jesus is the ‘Christ of God', the ‘Messiah', the ‘Son of Man', the ‘Son of God.

• And as St Paul tells us, we are all ‘children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus'.

Parish Activities

Thanks to all involved in Family Mass:
Today sees the last Family Mass of the season.  Each week since last September a very dedicated team of volunteers have put a huge amount of work into preparing for this weekly Mass.  In the Day Chapel they prepare and run a special liturgy of the word for small children.  In the main chapel they work with the children's choir who look magnificent in their new gowns.  The volunteers also arrange various pieces of children's art work and drama.  To all the adults and children involved we offer a sincere thanks and we look forward to your return in September.  And we also thank the primary schools in the parish who have willingly cooperated on various Sundays with the Family Mass.

6th International Organ Concert Series:
Commences  this Tuesday, 22nd, at 8.00pm in the Church of the Assumption - featuring the Pallestrina Choir with director Blanaid Murphy and Gerard Gillen, Organ.

Ministers of the Eucharist:
Please arrange to have a replacement if you cannot be present at your appointed Mass.

Welcome Booklet
Meeting Thursday 24th at 7.00pm. Many thanks to all who have helped with the distribution of the booklet.  Nearly all the new homes in the parish have received one at this stage (if you are new in the parish and haven't received one you can collect it in the Sacristy).  The booklet is also being distributed to all other homes in the parish as part of the visitation.  This should be completed in the Autumn.
