Love - A Many Splendoured Thing

I recall mother explaining to us that you didn't have to like somebody to love them.  This opened up a much more manageable challenge.

You could be patient with a person and respect their view point, even if you didn't agree with or like them.

You could have an active concern for people's welfare and rise above your own petty feelings about them.

You could look after those who were sick or in trouble, even if the got ‘under your skin' at times.

You could forgive and not count the cost.

For Christians, difficult as it may seem, it is possible to love people without liking them.  It is not an optional extra but a serious obligation.

"Love one another as I have loved you." (Jn. 13:34)
